In my opinion with the Deepwater Horizon and the oil spill of the coast of Nigeria the oil under the Earth`s sea`s should not be touched until the technology is more reliable. Now ponder this with the diffident oil related disasters a person who wagers on the fluctuation factor of big OIL make off with lute a lot like a country that starts a war with one another country that has large amounts of oil say country A has the world`s greatest military though country 2 has an all but non existent military now ponder the relationship where big oil pulls strings of both oil spill and mid east war and you tell me they are not putting the profit ahead of human life. To me this has a stench of the greatest criminal inter-prize in the world over the past two thousand years!

The Study showed "FRESH" tarballs....and the same as from the BP oil Spill ... Yikes

This information along with the new oil slicks visible from around the well suggest to me that the well might have a problem and is still leaking.

Hope BP and the Coast Guard are finding out how these fresh tar balls are appearing at Gulf Shores

Ah, just seeing this now, thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten about Dr. Bea's prediction. This stuff, which is showing up in a long 'crescent' (~25 nm N-S and 5-10 nm wide W-E) is at least 10 nm east of the well! Much ROV activity out there, but little information about what they're seeing. Need some sleuthing on this. Thanks -- Bonny

Thank you for the clarification and additional information, Dr. Bonny. It helps piece together what’s happening in that part of the Gulf. Back in August I blogged about the Mobile Press-Register report, in which Dr. Bea from UC Berkeley indicated that the oil’s point of surfacing about one mile from the well is about the point that the oil should show up factoring in the depth of the well and circulation currents in the water. But I see how I may have pulled that information in at the wrong point and worded it too broadly, making it sound like your claim. So thanks again for your clarification. Just one clarification: I have never stated that the oil we have been finding is coming from the Macondo well. In fact, that 'gravesite' looks quiet and clear. The oil we've documented has been over a band that runs about 25 nm north to south and stretches between about 7 and 20 nm east (northeast to southeast) of that Macondo well. Scientists have told us that this is more oil than they've seen before from natural seeps in the Gulf, and there are many research vessels out there every day, both BP-contracted (such as the Bordelon family of vessels -- Sarah, Rachel, Wes, etc. and the giant ROV-carrying Skandi Neptune) and government agencies (NOAA's Okeanos Explorere and McArthur II), so the area is clearly one of great interest and, we presume, concern.

That's great, if it was true. The tourism may be back but, the construction industry is still well below what pre-spill was. I am a General Contractor in Baldwin County Alabama. Our business is gone, there are no new construction projects or even additions to old ones. The problem with BP"s wisdom is, people may visit but, noone is staying and building or moving to the area. JUST PAY WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY, and do it in a timely manner. Quit the stall tactics, or better yet, DON'T pay Feinberg till we get paid and let's see how things speed up.

honestly i know its real because nobody knows about it.... its ridiculous!! for starters the cynthia genome is publicly acknowledged. check wiki. comes from a bacteriaphage similar to e coli, so doc ventnor, the guy who is responsible for decoding the freakin human dna by the way, recreated the bacterias dna, injected it into the real bacteria, and when the cells split they split into 1 synthetic ( SYNTHIA, patented synthetic life) cell and 1 normal cell. thus the worlds first synthetic life!!! by the way the bacteria is in the cicada family similar to a locust and is a parasite to goats i believe.... it is devious and they let it out to eat the oil, but its sooo much deeper.. im not a looney or a anything. it just all makes sense. ok so remember the falling birds in january? chemical burns INSIDE them? how about bp explosion workers were passing chemical burns?! you cant pass a chemical burn duh!!! worldvisionportal.org, blueplague.org. how is it even possible that if one person died from a mysterious illness that not just some people but noone knows about it? the same reason the gulf has had no weather this year... the government and bp. they are doing everything to clean this mess this thing is no joke.. so let me ask a question. how do you grow an antibody to something synthetic? oh yeah the emissions we breathe are from the same oil they are eating... makes you think. dont believe me see if what i say is wrong. youtube the bugs in water and see how wierd that goes for you

What happened to the BP database of spill mitigation ideas that contained between 15,000 and 35,000 ideas (250 of which BP said deserved serious evaluation, and the Coast Guard later demanded they turn over)? Why aren't lawyers interested in seeing this database, which could raise questions of about technical competency, (scientific) due diligence, negligence and possible collusion to suppress public information and data release. If the "spill" damage could have been stopped or significantly reduced 4-6 weeks sooner, shouldn't this be a major concern and consideration of attorneys? Negligence in those areas could have accounted for $15-25B of the damages and fines that have accrued. Should negligence, or information blockage and/or censoring be provable, that would also have adversely affected BP stock holders, in a major way. BP stockholders, therefore, may like to know what BP and the administration knew and when they knew it and also may want to know what was in that, now "disappeared", database. It seems the lawyers are not interested in these questions at all and assume the "exact same damage" would have resulted from any oil company's similar accident. This is a bad assumption to be making and leaves on the table many other claims against BP.

It's refreshing to see your post! It appears most of the "Dissenters" have been "Silenced", one way or the other. I'm curious which has been most effective, Divide and Conquer, Intimidation, Humiliation, or simple Starvation. After all, 100,000 have shut up and settled for "a bone". I find it interesting, spokespersons for KF are proud to tout the "USCG" has agreed with KF 100% of the time in denying claims. Are people still trying to "take advantage" of poor BP?
I don't know Attorney Donovan, who's supposedly sued KF and company, however he (and only he as an attorney) certainly has earned my respect.
